Telfs, 26 August 2026 – The Thöni Group has secured one of the largest multi-year contracts in its history. The contract covers the manufacture and supply of complex aluminium structural assemblies for the next generation of a world-leading premium saloon car. This marks a further expansion of the Tyrolean family-owned company’s partnership with a renowned international car manufacturer, which has been in place for almost two decades.

As part of the project, Thöni will produce crash-resistant longitudinal beams. The major contract involves the production of around one million structural components between 2028 and 2036. To this end, around 20,000 tonnes of aluminium will be processed at the Pfaffenhofen site.
The significance of the project for Tyrol as a business location is particularly welcome: the contract secures the long-term base utilisation of production capacity at the Pfaffenhofen plant and provides greater planning certainty for the coming years. At the same time, it strengthens the site’s international competitiveness and makes an important contribution to safeguarding skilled jobs in the region. Thöni is currently recruiting around 30 staff members for its production operations.

In a highly competitive international market, Thöni was able to prevail against numerous competitors. The decisive factors in being awarded the contract were, in particular, the company’s unique manufacturing technology and its ability to produce highly complex structural components entirely at its Pfaffenhofen site. The high level of vertical integration enables short production routes, the highest quality standards and maximum process reliability.
